Sukhmeet Tung
BIO
Sukhmeet’s interest in physiotherapy grew when she saw the positive impact it had on her mother’s life when she met with an accident. She was intrigued to witness the whole recovery cycle from being in excruciating pain to being pain-free and completely independent. Experiencing how empowering Physiotherapy can be and the impact it could have on peoples’ quality of life led her to pursue it as a career.
Sukhmeet believes that the key component to help patient feel better begins with an attempt to understand the patients’ emotional experience to gradually transition to the practical intervention. It contributes to the use of interventions in which the body and mind can be integrated, and a patient centred treatment can be planned to outline the specific goals the patient wants to achieve, educating them about the injury, prognosis and timeline for recovery and working together based on the principles of evidence-based practice, exercises and movement, manual therapy, pain management, injury prevention and recovery.
When free, Sukhmeet likes to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and watching documentaries.
